{"id":10386,"date":"2023-04-18T19:12:51","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T18:12:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.northernchorus.co.uk\/?p=10386"},"modified":"2023-04-18T19:12:52","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T18:12:52","slug":"the-clone-roses-take-on-heaton-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernchorus.co.uk\/2023\/04\/18\/the-clone-roses-take-on-heaton-park\/","title":{"rendered":"The Clone Roses Take On Heaton Park"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following their successful sold-out recreation of the iconic <strong>Stone Roses<\/strong> <strong>Spike Island <\/strong>gig, the UK&#8217;s tribute band trailblazers are making more history next month, as\u00a0<strong>The Clone Roses<\/strong> headline <strong>Manchester<\/strong>&#8216;s<strong>\u00a0Heaton Park<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday 13th May<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It sees the Clones return to the venue that hosted the Roses&#8217; <strong>2012 reunion shows<\/strong>, and also gives the band a chance to celebrate their own<strong> 25th Anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018<strong>Spike Island &#8211; The Resurrection<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> broke records as <em><strong>\u201cthe biggest tribute-themed festival the world has ever seen\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, and Heaton Park is the next step up. The Clone Roses will be warming the stage up for the likes of <strong>Parklife <\/strong>and <strong>Courteeners <\/strong>this year, which highlights the magnitude of the band&#8217;s achievements, taking the tribute idea further than anyone could have imagined 25 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A host of the<strong> UK&#8217;s favourite tribute bands<\/strong> will be joining the party next month, along with <strong>DJ sets <\/strong>from the likes of <strong>Clint Boon<\/strong>, <strong>Bez<\/strong>, and <strong>Dave Sweetmore<\/strong>. When the opportunity finally came, we couldn\u2019t say no! Over the years, we\u2019ve played the Blackpool Empress Ballroom, Spike Island, and now this\u2026 it feels like we\u2019ve completed The Stone Roses cycle to a certain degree!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe went on the Saturday and it was strange for us as we weren\u2019t really getting into it like everyone else\u2026 we were thinking things like \u201cwhat\u2019s Mani wearing,\u201d \u201cwhat\u2019s the guitar John is playing,\u201d making notes on setlist! Still loved it mind, and we never got to see them first time round so it was an incredible moment for us\u2026 That Roses Heaton Park setlist was all the classic songs you\u2019d hope them to play so I\u2019ve no doubt our show will be very similar to their set in 2012\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All members of the band attending the historic reunion shows over a decade ago, and now it&#8217;s their time to write their own bit of history at Heaton Park.
