2022 couldn’t have gone much better for 18-year-old Sunderland prodigy, Tom A Smith. He released his first two EPs, played Glastonbury, and toured with Miles Kane, Gang of Youths, and Elton John.
His story started as a young teenager, gracing the likes of Kendal Calling as the cover artist, Tom Mouse Smith, gaining social media acclaim and catching the attention of a certain Tim Burgess.
Now, Tom starts the year as he means to go on, releasing his first single of 2023 in the shape of, Little Bits produced by Larry Hibbitt (Sea Girls, Nothing But Thieves).
Speaking about the new track, Tom commented: “Whilst on tour with Gang of Youths, singer/songwriter Dave talked through his process when he wrote a song. As soon as I came back I put it into practice and this is what I came up with. The challenge I set myself was to write a song that would be great in Rocky IV and I think this works really well.”
It is the follow up single to Like You Do, which was released at the end of the last year and saw Tom teaming up with Miles Kane. His original material has already gained fans from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing North East, Apple Music, and new music champions, This Feeling.
Tom started a six date tour for Independent Venue Week on January 30th with Overpass, before supporting The Snuts at The BRITS War Child show and playing Stand Up To Cancer at Union Chapel this week.
