Fast-rising Nottingham indie outfit, The Chase have followed up their widely acclaimed and humorously entitled EP, ‘Not The F*cking Game Show’, with fun and lively new single, ‘Trumpet’. It sees the band channeling their Caribbean roots with the sonic introduction of reggae, ska and dub, evolving the band’s indie sound and demonstrating a four-piece willing to push their creative boundaries.
The Heaney brothers have family roots in St. Kitts and Nevis on their mother’s side, and frontman Tyler commented: “I think Trumpet is our boldest statement yet, it encapsulates where we are and where we are going. It’s fun, it’s catchy, it’s silly and it’s unique. It’s inspired by the likes of The Specials and Madness. I’m buzzing for you all to finally hear this one, BLOW THAT TRUMPET NOW!”
It sees the band teaming up with producer Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses), as well as drafting in an extra pair of hands to play the trumpet. It promises to a favourite in their live shows, which are gathering an increasingly positive reputation as they continue their impressive ascent in the industry alongside new music champions, This Feeling.
The band are riding high on the back of support slots with Spangled, The Rifles and The K’s, alongside festival appearances Isle of Wight, Truck, Y Not? and The Great Escape.
