With over 4 billion streams to his name and the best-selling Irish debut album of the 21st Century, Dermot Kennedy has announced a huge UK arena tour. The news is aligned with new single release, “Innocence and Sadness”, which is taken from his forthcoming second record, “Songer”, out November 4th!
Dermot commented on the new single: “It’s impossible for me to express how much this song means to me. I wrote this song on the piano in my parents’ house. “Innocence and sadness in the same night” means I cling to my childlike sense of wonder while learning how to face all the challenges of life. All in search of steady rhythm joy. Reliable and true joy.”
The tour begins next year in Glasgow on March 31st, before culminating in London at The O2 on April 14th. It will see Dermot performing to over 120,000 fans in total, which is testament to his meteoric rise following successful hits including, “Power Over Me” and “Outnumbered”.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am and are available here. After his acclaimed performance in front of 70,000 fans as the Friday headline act at Ireland’s Electric Picnic Festival, his biggest festival headline slot to date, tickets are expected to fly out. Full listings below…
