Former Joy Division & New Order bassist and founding member, Peter Hook, has announced live shows in Manchester and Bristol next April.
Peter Hook & The Light will perform the New Order album ‘Get Ready’ in full.
The record will be performed alongside some of the biggest hits and fan favourites from both Joy Division and New Order.
‘Get Ready’ was released in 2001 and featured key singles such as “Crystal”, “Someone Like You”, and “60 Miles An Hour”.
It also featured guest appearances from Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie.
The record was dedicated to Rob Gretton, the manager of both Joy Division and New Order, who passed away in 1999.
Speaking about the album and the upcoming shows, Hooky commented: “Get Ready was a honeymoon record. Looking back now it was very enjoyable to make, and I think it is massively underrated. It did sort the wheat from the chaff and led to a New Order mk2 which played better but had lost a naivety whilst gaining a maturity.
“Barney and I became a ‘power couple’ in Manchester during the making of the record but, sadly, the old problems recurred when we came to play live. The writing was on the wall from then on. The two of us worked very hard to make this a great record and I think we succeeded.
“I am looking forward to playing all the tracks, many of which have never been played live before. The Light will shine through… Get Ready!”
The shows will be at Bristol’s Marble Factory and Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse.
Tickets go on general sale this Friday 13th September at 10AM and will be available here: https://pinkdot.seetickets.com/tour/peter-hook-the-light?pre=artist
