Loose Articles Reveal Debut Album Details

Manchester‘s punk outfit, Loose Articles, have unveiled their highly anticipated debut album, “Scream If You Wanna Go Faster”, slated for release on June 7, 2024, courtesy of Alcopop! Records.

In celebration, the band have dropped the album’s lead single, ‘Mr. Manager’ today, across all major digital platforms.

Commenting on the new track, the band say: “Mr. Manager is a song about being stuck in the daily grind of a managerial nightmare.  A job is a job until it becomes an occupational hazard!”

On the live circuit, they’ve secured a significant supporting gig with Foo Fighters this summer, along with a newly announced May 2024 slot supporting The Lovely Eggs.

Additionally, they’ll embark on UK co-headline tour dates with label mates CHROMA, as well as featuring at Hit The South, Right To Roam Festival, Rebellion, Green Man, and Edinburgh Psych Fest.

Their debut album, a whirlwind journey, encapsulates the spectrum from the highs of pinball victories to the lows of mundane jobs and management struggles, inviting all to join in and throw caution to the wind.

Despite juggling weekend gigs with their 9-5 jobs throughout 2023, Loose Articles managed to carve out time to write and record the album, while still enjoying a pint or two at the pub.

Remaining true to their roots, the band recorded, mixed, and co-produced the album up north with collaborator Ian Stewart at Blueprint Studios, affectionately dubbed the Costa Del Salford.

Mastered by Katie Tavini, known for her work with Los Bitchos, Rudimental, Arlo Parks, Bloc Party, and Nadine Shah, the recording sessions were filled with laughter, synchronised dancing, and, of course, celebratory trips to Elbow’s favorite haunt, The Eagle Inn.

“We blasted it out in two lots of long weekend sessions to keep the energy high and fast paced, just like our live gigs,” say the band of the experience. “Thanks to the fuel of an array of Pot Noodles and medicinal drugs we created a Loose Articles extravaganza bedazzled with big riffs, footy whistles and cowbells to keep you on your toes!”

The album will be available in limited editions, including leopard print effect vinyl and four different football-themed CDs, each representing a band member.

Stay tuned for more music releases and live dates in the months ahead.
