Self Esteem is back! And details have been revealed for the long-awaited follow-up project to 2021 breakthrough success, “Prioritise Pleasure”.
The South Yorkshire artist, AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor, received BRITS and Mercury nominations four years ago for the sophomore record.
The former “Slow Club” singer has now announced her return this year with new album “A Complicated Woman” on April 25th.
The record will be released on digital, CD, cassette and vinyl formats – including limited editions – via Polydor Records.
“A Complicated Woman” features collaborations with Nadine Shah, Moonchild Sanelly and Sue Tompkins, along with drag queen “Meatball” and Coronation Street actress, Julie Hesmondhalgh.
The new record is about taking control of your life, with ‘Focus Is Power’ out now as the inspirational lead single.
The new single is inspired by words Taylor wrote on a sticker, working from her mum and dad’s shed in the pandemic.
“You see, it wasn’t up to me but now it could be / But now I see it clear with every passing of each year / I deserve to be here…”
2025 promises to be another landmark year for Self Esteem…
