If you were hoping for a slow start to music news to ease into the new year then think again, as Noel Gallagher has joined forces with Oasis and Happy Mondays supergroup, Mantra of the Cosmos!

The new psychedelic single “Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)” is out January 19th, as Noel lends his vocals to the group comprising Ringo Starr‘s son Zak Starkey (drummer – The Who, Oasis, Johnny Marr & more), Oasis guitarist Andy Bell, and Happy Mondays’ icons Shaun Ryder and Bez.

The group will also take to the legendary Cavern Club stage on release day to celebrate the new single, and you can expect to hear the 2023 singles “Gorilla Guerilla” and “X (Wot You Saying?)” on the night.

The band made their Glastonbury Festival debut as a headline act on the Glade Stage in 2023, and look set for a live resurgence in 2025.

The new single is named after Bez’s first band and is described by Starkey as a “Free Bird for Mods”.

The single will be available for fans to purchase from Sunday 19th January in red or blue vinyl, available at the gig and from the Cavern Club store, along with T-shirts featuring Noel Gallagher.

Zak Starkey commented: “It’s not every day that the greatest songwriter of my generation – not to mention Shaun, the greatest beat poet of our times – sends a tune to me and I was in a daze for a bit cos it’s not something you want to f*** up! It came together great – everyone digs it!

“Noel loves Shaun. He texted me to say ‘Do you know what you’ve got? The British Bob Dylan’ – and he’s not f***ing about because now I’ve witnessed what Shaun does. Noel calls him the ‘king of lyrics’.”

Incredibly, Starkey has only visited Liverpool once before to see his grandparents. Mantra of the Cosmos will play two sets at the city’s most iconic venue at 3pm and 8pm.

Andy Bell and Shaun Ryder will DJ in between sets and the night will be compered by Philip Regen, AKA “The Queen Of Scotty Road”, with support from fast-rising Liverpool band Keyside and Chloe Slater.

Starkey adds: “Can’t believe I’ve never even been there. There’s a great deal of family heritage at the cavern aside from the Beatles my parents courted there…who knows, I may have even been conceived there!”

It’s great to be playing there and they’re great people, really looking after us. The Cavern was rebuilt but it’s the original in spirit and I’m buzzing to be doing it.”

More new singles are expected throughout the year! Head to The Cavern Club Store for more information and purchases.
