With Isle of Wight, Truck and Y Not festival performances under their belt, alongside desirable support slots with James and The Sherlocks, The Lilacs‘ live appeal just keeps growing, as the North West indie band have now sold out the O2 Ritz in Manchester (1st November).

The Wigan-based quartet have also now signed with Scruff of the Neck Records, spawning their brand new single, ‘Where You’ve Been Hiding’.

This marks the first release from their highly anticipated EP, ‘The 395 (To Forever)’, dropping March 21st 2025.

Frontman, Ollie Anglesea, commented: “We’re absolutely buzzing to release ‘Where You’ve Been Hiding’. It’s our first new track in a while, and it feels like a new chapter for us. The song digs into relationships in today’s world and how media and politics can complicate things.”

The upcoming EP has been produced by the prolific Joe Cross (Courteeners, Hurts), and the title ‘395’ references a Wigan bus route from their youth.

The locality theme follows on from previous single, ‘Vicarage Road’, and the band name itself which is a nod to the Lilac Centre where guitarist, Sam Birchall’s late mother received care during her illness.

Sam commented: “We’re thrilled about ‘The 395 (To Forever)’ – it’s filled with stories of our youth, from late nights to lost loves. We hope listeners connect with it. This record feels like our best yet and marks a new era for The Lilacs.”

The band will also be taking the EP out on their biggest tour to date next year, listed below.
