One of the most iconic eras of music and culture is ready to be celebrated once again, as Rebecca Hook‘s new book, The Hacienda Threads, is published this week and launched at New Century Hall, Manchester, on Wednesday 9th October.
The book documents the music, the fashion, the nights, the people and the love that made The Hacienda so special, curated by Rebecca Hook and told through evocative photography and the eye-witness accounts of the people who were there.
This includes John Cooper Clarke, Bez, Noel Gallagher, Rowetta, Irvine Welsh, Andrew O’Hagan, Mike Pickering, and Mani, with a foreword by Rebecca’s husband Peter Hook.
The launch night will celebrate the vibrant story of The Hacienda with a round table discussion featuring key figures from the iconic venue’s history, including Noel Gallagher and Mani.
There will also be legendary names from Manchester’s fashion, alt-cabaret and DJ scenes – with signing sessions and DJ sets from luminaries of the Manchester club scene.
Following the discussion, attendees will have the chance to purchase the book and get it signed by members of the panel, including the book’s curator, Rebecca Hook.
The evening will culminate in a club night featuring sets from Graeme Park, Jon Dasilva, Guy Williams, Hewan Clarke, and Peter Hook.
Proceeds from the event will support three vital charities: AKT (formerly the Albert Kennedy Trust), Mind, and Sarcoma.
Tickets are available in limited numbers at £51 and include a complimentary Haçienda Cocktail on arrival.
