The Lathums Release New Track Ahead Of Huge Homecoming Show

The Lathums have ramped up the excitement ahead of their biggest show to date this week with the release of new single, “No Direction”.

Their debut track of 2024 sets the scene for their sold-out headline performance at Robin Park, Wigan, for 12,000 fans this weekend.

Friday’s landmark gig is the next stepping stone for the Wigan quartet, following last summer’s triumphant 8,000-strong gig at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl.

Despite their continuous success, Moore’s lyrics in “No Direction” reflect the introspective struggles of a twenty-something seeking meaning in a perplexing world.

Frontman, Alex Moore commented: “There is no direction now but up. With time and experience, I’ve learned that a bit of common sense and a clear mind is all it takes to accept my insecurities and not let them lead or consume me.

“What’s done is done; let the past go and spend time becoming better. Fear and pain have no place in moving forward; they exist only as lessons when you reach your final destination.”

Leading up to the big night at Robin Park, The Lathums have played a series of warm-up dates across northern UK and are looking forward to the summer’s remaining highlights, including a performance at Liam Gallagher’s festival in Malta this September and joining Keane for two arena shows in Glasgow and Manchester this October.

Beyond their music, The Lathums are celebrating their charitable achievements. Their Chance To See Fund, aimed at providing creative opportunities for young people in and around Wigan, has now raised over £20,000.

In partnership with the participatory arts charity Curious Minds, funds have been generated through fan donations, guest list contributions, and merchandise sales.

Launched during the promotion of their second UK Official Album Chart No.1 album, “From Nothing To A Little Bit More” in March 2023, the initiative supports local projects that bring music, theatre, and other arts to those with limited access.

Local organisations can apply for grants ranging from £500 to £2,000, and individuals aged 11-18 can apply for grants of £50 to £500 to realize their creative ideas.

Individual donations to the Chance To See Fund are welcome via the Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/chancetosee.
