Paul Molloy, the talented guitarist from The Coral, is set to release his second solo album, “The Madmen of Apocalypso”, out September 6th.
The album is being described as “a musical satire of the Apocalypse”, promising a unique and thought-provoking experience for listeners.
The lead single from the album, “Luxury Bunker”, is out NOW!
The new record is a collection of end-of-the-world, 20th Century jazz-pop songs, released via Spring Heeled Records.
The 11-track album promises a wry, weary and wise takes on a world in turmoil and the self-defeating behaviours of the modern human race.
Molloy’s previous solo work, “The Fifth Dandelion”, which came out in 2020 during the lockdown, was a great success and sold out quickly.
His new single and accompanying video for “Luxury Bunker” continue to showcase his artistic flair, delving into themes of global turmoil and the absurdities of human behaviour.
The video for “Luxury Bunker” is a notable piece of visual art, reflecting the song’s preoccupation with paranoia and the end of the world.
Musically, “Luxury Bunker”, features Molloy’s distinctive blend of music hall, mariachi, and sixties pop influences, interspersed with dynamic, cabaret-style breaks.
This unique combination highlights Molloy’s creative versatility and his ability to craft songs that are both entertaining and intellectually engaging.
Fans of The Coral and Molloy‘s previous solo work are in for a treat with this new release!
