The Mary Wallopers have revealed their biggest UK tour to date, taking place in March 2025 following the release of their eagerly anticipated new EP.
After completing sold-out tours across the UK, North America, and Australia, and making recent appearances on Later With Jools Holland, Radio 2’s Jo Whiley Show, and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, the band decided to spend a rare weekend off recording an EP with their regular producer, David Noonan, in Dublin.
The EP, titled Home Boys Home, features the title track, originally popularized by the Dubliners on their debut album in 1964. It also includes renditions of the traditional song “Bonnie Ship The Diamond” and a splendid cover of The Pogues’ classic “The Broad Majestic Shannon”.
The Mary Wallopers on the Home Boys Home EP: ”We decided to go into the studio for a couple of days and record these songs that we have been performing live the last while so anyone who can’t get to our festival gigs will have something to listen to.
“People have been asking for a release of Home Boys Home for a while and it was a good opportunity to record it. We wanted to pay tribute to Shane McGowan by doing a version of Broad Majestic Shannon and have thrown in Bonny Ship the Diamond for good measure. Hope you enjoy!”
Their summer festival season includes massive shows at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, TRNSMT and Latitude.
Tickets for the headline tour will be available here at 9.30am on Friday 28th June.
