Villanelle are making a grand entrance into the music scene, receiving enthusiastic receptions as the opening act on Liam Gallagher‘s massive ‘Definitely Maybe: 30 Years’ tour.
As this series of shows draws to a close, Villanelle – fronted by Liam’s son Gene on vocals and guitar – are gearing up for their first UK headline tour.
Gene, who has been writing songs for as long as he can remember, formed Villanelle earlier this year with Ben Taylor (guitar), Jack Schiavo (bass), and Andrew Richmond (drums).
Their early performances, including a standout gig at London’s rock ‘n’ roll pub The Marquis, caught the attention of Liam, who invited them to open for his current tour.
Opening for one of music’s most iconic frontmen and playing to large crowds alongside indie greats like Cast and The View was a pivotal moment, and Villanelle seized the opportunity brilliantly.
Villanelle have already generated excitement as guests for acts like Seb Lowe, Overpass, and Pastel, and though they have yet to release any music, expect announcements on that front soon.
Tickets for the tour, which includes a Manchester homecoming show at Night & Day as well as a London gig at Oslo, go on sale from 9am this Friday, June 21st.
