Blossoms Announce New Album And Release Title Track

Stockport quintet, Blossoms, have unveiled the long-awaited news of their fifth album, set for release later this year.

The follow-up to 2022 record, Ribbon Around The Bomb, is entitled “Gary”, with the title track released today with the help of a promotional video featuring Gary Numan, Gary Neville, and Gary Lineker.

The official video also landed today, with Rick Astley taking on the starring role following Everton manager, Sean Dyche‘s surprise appearance for previous single, “What Can I Say After I’m Sorry”.

The video is based on a true story frontman, Tom Ogden, heard on the radio last year, where Gary, the eight-foot fiberglass gorilla, was stolen from Reynard Garden in Carluke, Scotland.

The new album will be released on September 20th, following the band’s biggest headline show to date at Wythenshawe Park on the August Bank Holiday Sunday.

It has been produced by frequent collaborator James Skelly of The Coral, along with Jungle’s Josh-Lloyd Watson.

‘Gary’ also features collaborations with BRIT-nominated singer-songwriter CMAT, who co-wrote two tracks on the album, titled ‘I Like Your Look’ and ‘Why Do I Give You The Worst Of Me?’.
