The Slow Readers Club Winter Tour – On Sale Now

Renowned Manchester ensemble, The Slow Readers Club, have unveiled a series of performances spanning November and December 2024.

Comprised of Aaron Starkie (vocals), Kurtis Starkie (guitar), James Ryan (bass), and David Whitworth (drums), The Slow Readers Club initially captured hearts with their self-released albums: the eponymous debut in 2011 and ‘Cavalcade’ in 2015.

Aaron’s lyrical journey traversed from personal narratives to socio-political and dystopian landscapes with releases like ‘Build A Tower’ (2018), ‘The Joy Of The Return’, and ’91 Days In Isolation’ (both 2020).

Their latest offering, ‘Knowledge Freedom Power’, arrived last year following a successful UK and European headline tour, marking the successor to the Top 10 album ‘The Joy of the Return’ in 2020.

The Slow Readers Club’s journey has been paved with headline tours and supporting gigs for notable acts such as James, Pixies, Morrissey, The Charlatans, Shed Seven, Catfish & The Bottlemen, and Jesus and Mary Chain.

Adding to their roster, they’ll also support Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at Wigan’s Robin Park on July 18th.

From humble beginnings to sold-out shows and mainstage festival performances, the band’s ascent is a testament to their exceptional music, amplified by fervent word-of-mouth, grassroots music blogs, and support from radio champions like Chris Hawkins, Steve Lamacq, and John Kennedy.

With each passing day, their fan base swells, fueled not just by the quality of their compositions but also the electrifying energy of their live performances.

Tickets for the upcoming tour dates will be available starting Friday, April 12th, at 10:00 am via www.gigsandtours.com / www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
