L’objectif Announce “The Left Side” EP

804 0

Fast-rising Leeds quartet, L’objectif, have started 2024 with real intent, after announcing their brand new EP, “The Left Side”, set for release via Chess Club Records on March 22nd.

The band also shared a new single, “Puppy”, which was debuted by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music earlier this week.

Frontman and producer, Saul Kane, commented: “This song was the last song written on the EP and was finished relatively quickly. I suppose it’s kind of a pop song but despite the title, it’s actually pretty dark lyrically.

It’s a song about desperation just sugarcoated in an indie dance tune, which is usually what you can expect with us lot. Saying that, it sounds like nothing we’ve done before at all.”

The video for the track, directed by Ethan Porter (also credited with the main article photo), has also been revealed, along with a Spring headline tour.

This includes a highly anticipated homecoming show at the incredible Brudenell Social Club on April 13th, along with stops in Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and more (full dates listed at the end of the article).

Saul continues, discussing the EP: “It’s the closest we have been to knowing what picture we want to paint. It’s another window into the musical space we wish to explore, yet I think we’re closer to having our sound.

“I think the project signifies the end of a section in our lives, moving out from the haze of the moment and reflecting on our teenage years and all its chaos with more understanding.”

With a special sold out headline show at Oporto performed in September, which followed slots at All Points East and Reading & Leeds, L’objectif are a band riding the crest of a wave at the minute.
