Two-time Ivor Novello winner, Richard Ashcroft has announced a huge outdoor homecoming show for 2024.
The former frontman of The Verve, and acclaimed solo artist in his own right, will return to his native Wigan to perform at Robin Park on Saturday 20th July.
It will be the first time Richard has performed in Wigan for over 25 years, and it comes at a time when the town’s local music scene is thriving.
Richard commented: “After 25 years, I’m back playing in my hometown. Looking forward to an amazing night in Wigan.”
The likes of The Lathums and Stanleys have been making significant progress in the industry recently, triggering a plethora of new bands and artists who are shining on the Wigan grassroots music scene.
Richard Ashcroft has of course been there and done that, and he will now return to where it all began to perform hits from both his solo career and The Verve classics.
Robin Park is Wigan Warriors’ new multi-million pound facility, built in association with Wigan Council.
Located next to The DW Stadium, Robin Park is just a 20 minute walk from Wigan town centre, and Wigan North Western train station.
