Wasting no time to ease into the new year, The Slow Readers Club have provided fans with the latest injection of new record, Knowledge Freedom Power, with the release of brand new single, Modernise, written by the band and produced by Joe Cross (Courteeners, Hurts).
A true underdog story, the Manchester group have garnered a cult following over the last decade and have battled through industry turbulence throughout the pandemic to create this eagerly anticipated new album, out Feburary 24th.
It will be SRC’s first full studio album since The Joy Of The Return became their first to enter the UK Top 10 charts in 2020. The new track opens the record, presenting a “post-capitalist dystopia in which the demands of technology, automation and always-on work culture overwhelms the individual until prayer becomes the only possible salvation”.
The new single follows the title track release, and again shows a band willing to experiment with their sound. The Slow Readers Club commented: “‘Modernise’ is about the constant need to learn and adapt to changing, it’s a bit of a techno fear song.”
‘Knowledge Freedom Power’ is now available to pre-order HERE. It will be released on blue vinyl, CD and cassette, as well as digital and streaming formats. Album bundles including new merch designs and signed art prints are also available from the band’s official store.
Tickets are also flying out for the 2023 tour. Remaining tickets are available HERE. The dates are as follows.
