Wigan‘s finest, The Lathums promised fans there was more to come following their landmark sold out show at the Empress Ballroom, Blackpool, before announcing the long-awaited release of fan favourite track, ‘Sad Face Baby’, the following day. Now, the day has finally arrived for fans to hear the studio version of the brand new single!
‘Sad Face Baby’ has been a staple part of The Lathums’ live show for a while now, with fans having to settle for crowd-recorded footage of the song in the lead-up to release. Now, we have entered Chapter 2 of this chart-topping indie band’s journey, following their 2021 number one record, ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’.
Frontman, Alex Moore commented: “The Lathums has been a world of opportunity for us, but things still get to you. We have had to come to understand each other more and the ways the world works around us. Naivety and innocence have been lost and ‘Sad Face Baby’ is the sharper edge of what we can do as a band.”
2022 promises to be another big year for the band, with a huge support slot with The Killers on their European arena tour, along with festival appearances at the likes of TRNSMT, Neighbourhood, Reading and Leeds and Boardmasters. The Lathums will also make their Benicàssim debut, alongside major calendar dates in Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Holland.
