Ahead of the release of their new album later this year, Liverpool six-piece Red Rum Club have unveiled their latest single, ‘Vibrate’. Their second single of the year follows ‘Nightcalling’, both of which will feature on ‘How to Steal the World’, the band’s upcoming third studio album scheduled for release on Friday 22nd October 2021 via Modern Sky UK.
‘Nightcalling’ was released to widespread acclaim in June, setting the bar high for the latest instalment of the band’s new chapter. ‘Vibrate’ tells a tale from the viewpoint of a groveling partner, filled with excuses and regret as he looks back on a past mistake. It sees the band exploring new elements of their ever-evolving sound once again, with laidback summer vibes and an infectious melody.
Speaking of the new single, frontman, Fran Doran says: “’Vibrate’ is built on hazy recollections and confessions in the form of a guilt-laden ballad. It sets a scene of consequences and regret to an all-too-familiar list of excuses made by the bad half of the relationship. A sombre narrative cushioned by lush orchestral textures that create a cinematic score to this dreamy tale of inebriation and infidelity.”
The band play a much anticipated hometown show at Mountford Hall in Liverpool later this year, as well as a headline slot at Liverpool Sound City festival.
