Rising Scottish star, Rianne Downey has today released her latest single, ‘Do or Die’. The new track follows ‘Fuel to the Flame’ and ‘Stand My Ground‘, the first two critically acclaimed releases from the singer-songwriter, and has only increased the buzz surrounding one of the most exciting prospects in the UK right now.

From busking on the streets of Glasgow alongside Dylan John Thomas through to sharing a stage with Gerry Cinnamon, this is a career breakthrough that has been brewing for several years now. The 21-year-old has sold out her upcoming show at the iconic King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, and is also set to play Manchester’s hotspot for rising indie talent, the Night & Day Cafe amongst other dates later this year.

Speaking about the new single, Rianne commented: “Why wait for tomorrow? There’s been times when I have really wanted to do this, but not wanted to fail. At the end of the day, there’s no option but to. ‘Do Or Die’ is about getting to the point of trying. Now is always the right time.”

‘Do or Die’, the third track from the Fuel To The Flame EP, was recorded at at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool with James Skelly (The Coral) at the end of last year. It gives fans another taste of Rianne’s own material, following the success of recent covers, ‘Caledonia’ and ‘Flower of Scotland’, performed for the Scottish national football team’s run at the Euros.
