Rising Irish artist, Solis has been making a name for herself on the Manchester music scene in recent years, and has now released her stunningly unique new single ‘Be Together’, the second single off her forthcoming debut album ‘Priestess’.
With hypnotic harmonies and dreamy ambiance, ‘Be Together’ is an accomplished and expressive new cut from the rising Manchester-based artist. Hallmarked with Solis’ signature melodies, the track is a brooding exploration of complex emotions.
Opening-up about the track, Solis shares: “‘Be Together’ tells the story of someone who longs to be in a relationship all the time. When someone finds it difficult to be on their own and becomes infatuated by another they wish to be with… The middle section with the cannon vocals is symbolic of the commotion, confusion and lust that has consumed the person’s thoughts. It’s not autobiographical, but there are elements of the unnamed narrator that I definitely relate to. Loneliness and missing human connection is something that we all can understand after the coronavirus pandemic.”
Never one to shy away from psychedelic fluidity, her poignant vocals resonate with a melancholic charm, whilst paying tribute to her Irish heritage and classical music training. The new single was written, performed and recorded at her home in Moss Side, Manchester. Produced by Andy Connor, the track was mixed and mastered by Neil Claxton, with additional drums recorded at Vibratone Studios Manchester.
Last year, Solis released her debut single ‘Jigsaw’ to a warm reception. Appearing on Stacey Copeland’s show on BBC Radio Manchester, the track also received praise from This Feeling, VPX Introducing Radio and Even the Stars; with Listen to Discover enthusing “With a constant infusion of ethereal tendencies, it’s a soft, yet powerful entrance into the musicworld.”
A captivating presence on the live stage, Solis has had success playing a wide variety of shows ranging from supporting Blossoms at Yes in Manchester to supporting Phoebe Green at Soup Kitchen. Other gig highlights include supporting Inhaler and Fuzzy Sun, as well as performing an intimate gig through Sofar Sounds in Manchester and Liverpool.
Solis has also played an assortment of festivals such as Kendal Calling, Liverpool Sound City, Neighbourhood, Dot to Dot and Skeleton Coast.
Solis adds: “I’m so humbled by the reaction that Jigsaw received. I can’t wait to be able to start gigging again and celebrate the song releases with friends from across the Mancunian music scene.”
Taken from a highly anticipated debut album, ‘Priestess’, planned for release later this year. To check out the brilliant new track, ‘Be Together’, LISTEN HERE.
